This is one of our first images of the giant lizard recently discovered in the Phillippines. It has been named Varanus bitatawa. Scientists say the lizard can grow about six and half feet long, is "incredibly secretive," and spends nearly all of its life in trees more than 66 feet high. Varanus bitatawa has evolved to be strictly vegetarian, and its males have likewise developed a double penis, which points in two directions.
